Below are several resources I have helped to build or have found useful
NYTimes "Can You Gerrymander Your Way to Power" Interactive: Teaches students about the challenges of redistricting, partisan gerrymandering, and the one-person-one-vote principal.
Congress Simulation: This simulation teaches students about the floor debate process, challenges of decision making, constituent demands, and procedural rules in the US House of Representatives. I use the vending machine simulation, and have added several additional roles to make it more appropriate to a college classroom, as well as workable for a slightly larger classroom. U.S. National Government Class - Denton City Council Voter Guide, Spring 2019 : In the Spring of 2019, my Introduction to U.S. Government students made this Denton City Council Voter Guide, which I then compiled for them into a single document, and we distributed to the university.
